Dr Nelum Perera graduated from one of the leading medical faculty in Sri Lanka (University of Peradeniya) in 2005. Since then, she has been practising medicine for more than 14 years as a clinician and a GP. In the beginning, she mainly worked in the paediatric field and completed her specialist training and obtained her High Diploma (2009) and MD in (2012) in paediatric. And then, she received her paediatric neurology specialist training and worked as a fellow at; Lady Ridgeway Hospital Sri Lanka, Kings College Hospital in London and Lady Cilento Hospital in QLD. Upon completion of her training in 2017, Dr Perera commenced to work for the Greenslopes Private Hospital and gained work experience in a variety of specialities including general medicine, surgery, emergency medicine, gastroenterology, paediatrics, endocrinology, rural medicine and psychiatry enhanced the smooth transition to general practice in Australia. She is also serving as an after-hour doctor in 247 doctor service. Dr Nelum is interested in treating patients with both common medical problems and paediatrics/paediatric neurology issues. She is a great listener and always passionate about her patients’ care and genuinely pay attention to her patients’ well-being.
